Step 1 is the PCR and initial sequencing step where a fragment of approximately 400 bp from the 3'UTR of the target gene was amplified and sequenced. Step 2 illustrates the sequencing of the PCR fragment from step 1 in all individuals in the target population. This step served two purposes: a search and identification of a SNP and at same time a validation of the identified SNP as a true SNP (not a PSV).Back to article page
