PCR results are recorded as positive (+) or negative (-) with primer pairs designed to detect the presence of Insertion Sequences (ISMmy2 and ISMmy3), Integrative Conjugative Elements (traG) or the insertion of an integrative conjugative element at a specific location (VIP). Non specific PCR primers corresponding to 16SrDNA genes were used as positive amplification controls.
