The microarray experiments performed to investigate these questions are shown with the control condition given in the blue box and test condition indicated as follows: amikacin (green boxes); meropenem (yellow boxes), trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (tan boxes); chlorpromazine (pink boxes); and the clonal outbreak strains (turquoise). The exception to the latter designation was that each spontaneously resistance mutant was used as the control condition when they were exposed to antibiotics.
