Most genes have small ΔAIC and exhibit an uni-modal expression profile. A relatively small number of genes have high ΔAIC and show bimodality in their expression. B) A negative correlation between bimodality (described by ΔAIC) and expression noise (as described by the coefficient of expression variation) in the yeast genes. C) The four GAL genes show bimodality and one of their modes are enriched within the same condition/category.
