  1. a the sequences are filtered out if they contain 3 Ns (N is undetermined nucleotide) and only A and C without G and T, vice versa; b the simple sequences are filtered out if they contain 2 Ns (N is undetermined nucleotide), 7 consecutive As, 8 consecutive Cs, 6 consecutive Gs or 7 consecutive Ts and 10 repeats of any dimer, 6 repeats of any trimer, or 5 repeats of any tetramer. These numbers were from the statistics of miRbase ver16.
