(B-E) Relationship between gene expression and histone marks in infected line 63 birds. Plots of histone modifications around the gene body (B, C) in genes having high (blue), medium (red), low (green) and no activity (brown): H3K4me3 shows positive correlation with gene expression levels while H3K27me3 exhibits a negative relationship. A comparison of epigenetic marks and transcriptional levels (D, E) confirms the same. Similar trends were observed in other experimental groups (Additional file1: Figures S3-5).
