Estimated power. A) The figure shows the estimated power of detecting fragments from novel classes of qnr as a function of fragment length in nucleotides (averaged over the five different models used in the cross-validation). At a fragment length of 33 amino acids (approximately 100 nucleotides), the power to detect fragments from novel classes of qnr genes was estimated to 94% which increased to 100% for 100 amino acid long fragments. B) A magnification of the upper left region showing the power of detecting each class of qnr genes: QnrA (black), QnrB (red), QnrC (green), QnrD (dark blue) and QnrS (cyan).
