Together gene expression and transposons show a structured genomic organisation relative to macro-region architecture. (B) Two alternative genetic programs are demarcated at the switch by a bottleneck event that is readily apparent in transcriptomic data. Significant enrichment for functional gene categories at different stages of the growth cycle is indicated.
