Expression profiles of ZmNAS genes in response to Fe deficiency and Fe excess. The maize seedlings were hydroponically cultured to three-leaf stage, and then they were transferred to Hoagland solution in the absence of Fe (Fe deficiency) or with 500 μM Fe3+-EDTA (Fe excess). The shoots (S) and roots (R) were harvested after 0, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 96 hours of treatment. Relative gene expressions were normalized using maize Actin1. The error bars indicate standard deviations.
