Quantitative reverse-transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) for quantification of gene expression was performed on mature Catharanthus plants. Three whole plants were combined for each biological replicate. Each time point consisted of three biological replicates. Three technical replicates were measured per time point sample. A. Expression of Catharanthus JAZ2 transcripts were determined in after 0, 1, 2, or 4 hours of MeJA treatment. B. Expression of the TIA biosynthetic genes G10H, TDC, and STR. C-D. Expression of 16 Catharanthus WRKY transcription factors in response to 0, 1, 2, and 4 hours of MeJA treatment. Significant and highly significant, p-value < 0.05 or 0.01 respectively, changes in gene expression were determined using a Student’s T-test.
