Each of the trajectories can be divided into early, intermediate and late time regimes despite small individual differences (dashed lines). The 2nd level SOM was trained with the data of all volunteers. The trajectories shown connect the time-dependent samples of the respective proband. The symbols '+' and 'x' indicate the start and the end of isolation. Note that the trajectory of proband no. 5 (P5) enters the 'late time range' still before starting isolation in correspondence with the respective proteomics portraits shown in Figure 6.
