A) shows the POLA2 model in complex with the crystal structure of the carboxyl-terminal domain of DNA polymerase alpha (in purple) represented in different rotations. Conservation was mapped to the surface of the POLA2 model. Grey color means no conservation, while the other colors signify conservation of physical properties, i.e. yellow: hydrophobic, green: uncharged polar, blue: positive charge, red: negative charge.
