The pAsa5 ZA-pAsa9 plasmid presence was visualized by gel electrophoresis (see Fig. 3b) and the ISAS5 recombination and surrounding sequences were amplified by PCR (1 and 2). b Two long PCRs show the junctions between pAsa5 ZA and pAsa9.
