The genes were selected from the full list based on the potential relevance to AAA. Genes highlighted with † have previously been identified as associated with human AAA in a whole genome expression study [9]. *Ratio of relative gene expression in supra compared to infrarenal aortic segments from 10 paired samples (5 pairs of arrays due to pooling of 2 aortic segments for each analysis).
