Increased sensitivity of the Δ vraRS mutant to cefotaxime, EGTA, chlorpromazine and sodium tungstate. The ΔvraRS mutant and the wild-type S. aureus Newman strain were grown either in the presence or absence of the antimicrobial agents as indicated in 150 μl of BHI medium in wells of microtiter plates in a Bioscreen for 16 hours. The optical densities of the cultures were measured every 15 minutes. The data points show the densities measured at one-hour intervals.
