Tortula ruralis chloroplast genome structure. Genes (colored boxes) on the right side of the map are transcribed in the top down direction, whereas those on the left side are transcribed bottom up. The tRNA genes are indicated by the one-letter amino acid code (fM = initiator methionine) followed by the anticodon. Introns are show with an asterisk (*), the trans-spliced gene rps12 is shown with two asterisks (**) and the pseudogene trnPGGG is shown with a Psi (Ψ). Horizontal red lines along the genome indicate polymorphic nucleotides.
