Differential gene expression in A. marginale -infected cultured BME26 tick cells. Real-time RT-PCR was done on uninfected and infected BME26 cells collected at 6, 24 and 72 hpi (four independent cultures each). Bars represent average + SD mRNA ratios. The mRNA levels were normalized against tick β-actin using the comparative Ct method. The mRNA levels were compared between infected and uninfected tick cells by Students's t test (*p ≤ 0.05).
