Compared to solitary genes, the * indicates a significant difference in recombination rate (X-axis) (P-value ≤ 0.05; Mann-Whitney U tests, two-sided; not corrected for multiple comparisons), and the + indicates a significant difference of the evolutionary property studied (Y-axis) (P-value ≤ 0.05; Mann-Whitney U tests, two-sided; not corrected for multiple comparisons).
