NGF treatment rescues HMC-1 (V560G c-Kit) from imatinib induced rapid cell death. Aliquots of 1 × 105 of HMC-1(V560G c-Kit) cells were grown in medium containing 10% FCS with or without NGF (100 ng/ml) in the presence or absence of imatinib (5 μM) for 3 days. Cells were stained with 0.1% Trypan Blue and living cells were counted using a Neubauer cell counting chamber. Cell numbers are presented as the mean ± S.D. for three independent experiments performed in triplicate.
