Figure legends are: Young - interCDS regions that are not conserved in any other ten yeast species; Old - interCDS regions that are conserved in any other ten yeast species; BI - inter-CDS regions flanked by bidirectional/divergent gene neighbours; UNI - inter-CDS regions flanked by unidirectional/co-oriented gene neighbours; CON - inter-CDS regions flanked by convergent gene neighbours.
