Entry (A) was calculated relative to initial inoculum, and replication (B) was calculated relative to entry; both were normalized relative to the parental control, set at 100% entry and 100% replication. Significance was determined using one-way ANOVA and Dunnett's Multiple Comparison Test. Mutants with a statistically significant difference from the parental strain (*p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001) could be complemented for both entry (C) and replication (D). Plasmid pDA12 is a vector control; pJTx is a complementation plasmid. Error bars indicate the standard error of the mean of at least three independent experiments.
