  1. We permuted gene-gene correlations to simulate the LNS distribution of a randomized network. The numbers of genes below the average LNS for these random networks were counted. We also calculated the p-value by randomizing the matches between orthologs to simulate non-conservation. The average LNS for each matched dataset pair was calculated.
