IUPAC alignment systematically reduces allelic ratios by approximately 0.3-fold per fold change in Standard alignment allelic ratios (i.e. a 2-fold Standard allelic ratio corresponds to a 1.4-fold IUPAC allelic ratio). Inset: Following IUPAC alignment, fewer SNPs are above any given allelic ratio threshold compared to Standard alignment, suggesting uniform reduction of allelic ratios across the spectrum of allelic values.
