Distributions of histone modifications and Pol II across genic regions. ChIP-seq data are the same set as in Figure 6. For the six gene categories described in Figure 4A, peak density profiles of histone modifications were aligned using the 2 kb windows containing TSSs and TESs respectively, and the average peak densities (the peak number per 2kb window) of the six 2 kb windows upstream, the window containing TSSs/TESs, and the six 2 kb windows downstream were plotted: (A) H3K4me2, (B) H3K4me3, (C) H3K27me3, (D) H3K36me3, (E) H3K9Ac, (F) Pol II (8WG16). See Additional file 2: Figure S4 for plots of the other four histone modifications.
