Organization of sequencing primers by amplicon. Approximate positioning and coverage of each of the 127 sequencing primers used to generate 135 sequences across the mtGenome. Amplicon start and end points (in terms of nucleotide position) are given, and forward sequences are represented above the template strand while reverse sequences are listed below. The number of sequencing primers per amplicon ranges from sixteen to eighteen. The sequencing strategy used for the CR (Amplicon 8) was adopted wholesale from [13] and uses eight distinct primers to produce sixteen sequences.
