Relationship between gene expression profiles and PrPScdeposition. Figure shows genes whose expression was statistically associated with PrPSc deposition. P1 is the probability calculated using the simple regression model y i  = μ + bp i  + e i , and P2 is the probability calculated using the second regression model y ij  = μ + T i  + bp ij  + e ij (which includes a systematic effect associated with the 3 categories; Preclinical, Clinical and Healthy). The slope of regression describing the relationship between histopathological lesions and gene expression was calculated using the second model. Analyses were performed using R software (R project for Statistical Computing).
