Blue and red light-induced changes in transcript accumulation of genes encoding components of diverse metabolic pathways. Cell types were separated as described in Figure 2 and Additional file 1: Figure S1A. After 26 h of dark incubation, the cells were exposed to blue (A, 470 nm; 15 μmol photons m-2 s-1) and red (B, 655 nm; 15 μmol photons m-2 s-1) light for 1 h. Each experiment was performed in triplicate from at least two different biological samples. The data were averaged and statistically treated (t-test, *P < 0.05; **P < 0.01).
