From: Cell array-based intracellular localization screening reveals novel functional features of human chromosome 21 proteins

Figure 3

Protein intracellular translocation observed on cell arrays. (A) Stages of post-translational trafficking of KCNE2, a plasma membrane (PM) protein, including the early modification within the Golgi complex (a) and final localization at the PM (b) or in the lysosomes (c), without retention in the ER. (B) Translocation of BACH1 and CHAF1B proteins during cell interphase and mitosis. 1. BACH1 proteins distributed in the entire cytosol at interphase. In early mitosis, most proteins accumulated in the nucleus and wrapped around condensed chromosome. 2. During the interphase, CHAF1B protein localized in the nucleus, whereas after cell division it was found in the cytoplasm of two daughter cells. (C) Differential localization patterns of MCM3AP protein in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The scale bar represents 10 μm.
