The correlation coefficient is r = 0.997. Note that the coefficient k was derived from parental data (see methods) and then applied to the data obtained for children. Any errors in estimating the parental allele frequencies are incorporated in the estimate of k and therefore the estimate of the allele frequency in offspring includes the measurement errors from both samples.
