Description of read-through BC039389-GATM. (A) DNA: Genomic structure of BC039389 and GATM on the DNA (−) strand. RNA: Two isoforms are expressed from the genomic locus both utilizing the same alternative ATG in GATM exon 3 for putative protein translation. TaqMan assay positions and the positions targeted by siRNAs are indicated. (B) Differential expression of BC039389-GATM isoform 1 (BGv1) in tumor vs. normal kidney tissue (**p < 0.01, student’s t-test with Bonferroni correction). (C) Comparison of BGv1 and BGv2 expression in 14 frozen tumor/normal sample pairs using TaqMan assays.
