  1. A global unbiased metabolic profiling platform from both plant species was used as previously described (Evans et al. 2009 [16]). 4-hydroxy-2-oxoglutaric acid was identified by comparison to library entries of purified standards. The values show the fold increases relative to control unstressed plants.
