Dot-plot alignment of putative allelic RH BAC tiling paths from the central heterochromatin. RH MTP 1054 of haplotype {0} has fragmented collinearity with RH MTP 1645 of haplotype {1} over a length of 350 kb of sequence, suggesting that these MTPs are allelic. The BAC clones that make up these tiling paths are depicted on the axes. Four BAC clones (colored) have been selected for cytogenetic mapping by FISH in order to verify this possible allelism. The blue ID numbers on the axes correspond to AFLP markers from bin 46 of the genetic map, which anchor these sequenced BACs to the corresponding haplotypes of RH Chr-5.
