Sequencing of small RNAs from B. dorsalis, identified six members of this cluster previously believed to be specific for Drosophilids. The search was expanded to other two Teprhitid species for which genome information is available (Bactrocera cucurbitae, melon fly; and Ceratitis capitata, mediterranean fruit fly) yielding similar clusters.
