ClToxB is likely a host-specific toxin. ClToxB with and without signal peptide were cloned in the PVX-based binary vector pGR106. Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains carrying pGR106-ClToxB and pGR106-ClToxBΔSP were expressed in the model plant tobacco (Nicotiana tobacum), and macroscopic cell death/necrosis was monitored 3 through 10 days post-infiltration (dpi).
