Mosaic organization of subtelomeric sequences in the genome of Encephalitozoon cuniculi GB-M1 (strain I). Numbering from I to XI refers to the haploid set of chromosomes. The α end of each chromosome is represented on the left and β end on the right. As the diploid genome of E. cuniculi GB-M1 displays two homologous chromosomes III having diverged at the β end, a total of 23 subtelomeres are described. Colour gradation was used to represent the different EXT sub-sequences issuing from the same EXT repeat. The scale has been conserved to represent the different EXT sub-sequences
