Examples of module duplication in type I PKSs from algae. Module sequences were compared at the protein level by bidirectional BLAST. The degree of similarity between the modules is reflected by the color code. For the most striking examples of module similarity the percentage of identity is specified. Blue-shaded connections between proteins: similarity suggested by the phylogenetic analysis.
