Human and frog C. pneumoniae strains encode for either two or three copies with various levels of fragmentation between strains. Different clades within human C. pneumoniae encode for identical sequence length across this locus. The Australian indigenous strains are the only known human C. pneumoniae strains to encode for a CPK_ORF00549 homolog
