Functional categories of highly differentially expressed genes (HDEGs) in Forrest genotype after F. oxysporum FO36 and FO40 isolate inoculation at 72 (a, b) and 96 (c, d) hours post inoculation (hpi). HDEGs were annotated by Blast2GO analysis and classified in functional categories on the basis of literature evaluation. Induced genes are represented in black, while repressed ones are in white. The total percentage of modulated transcripts within each functional category is also shown. The complete list of genes is available in Additional file 6: Table S6
