Visualization of gene families. In order to reduce the complexity of the gene view in Cascade, families of closely related genes can be represented by single nodes in the main rendering view and expanded by left clicking on the “parent” node. The child nodes are then shown, with appropriate colouring and information according to the user thresholds, on a second elevated plane. Left-clicking on these child nodes reveals the same tabbed window for individual genes as on the main plane
