Frequency of amino acid repeats in proteins from different functional groups. The frequency (y-axis) of repeats was calculated through dividing the number of amino acid repeats within a specific functional group with the number of orthologous proteins of that group. The functional groups were defined from Gene Ontology annotations (see Methods)
