Phylogeny of Ot-Fea1. The newly discovered O. tauri gene (ostta18g01980) has a duplicated Fea1 domain (supported by the Hhpred program), a signal peptide (predicted by Psort II) and a C-terminal transmembrane helix (predicted by TMpred). A phylogeny of homologous Fea1 and Isip2a domains from algal proteins is shown. The ostta18g01980 N- and C-terminal domains are monophyletic with the Fea1 domains of other green algae. The multiplication of the Fea1 domain clearly occurred several times independently and even number of domains, from 2 to 10 is generally detected
