Suppression in expression of components belonging to the predicted defensome in a susceptible interaction with PST was rapidly alleviated in a resistant interaction. Ten genes were identified that are likely homologs of interactors and complex partners of the rice central defence regulator OsRac1. Expression was rapidly suppressed for the genes involved in chitin perception (at 2 days post inoculation (dpi)) and defensome activation (at 3 dpi) in a susceptible interaction, but this suppression was quickly alleviated in the resistant interaction.
