178 samples were hierarchically clustered into five groups based on oral bacterial genera using average linkage with Pearson correlation. The heat map shows relative abundance of top 20 bacterial genera (horizontal axis) in each sample (vertical axis) contributing to 72.55 % of the total difference for assessing five community types with DMM approach. The stars denote unclassified taxa. HP: Healthy Plaque; CP: Caries-active Plaque; PP: Pigment-occurred Plaque; CPP: Caries + Pigment Plaque; HS: Healthy Saliva; CS: Caries-active Saliva; PS: Pigment-occurred Saliva; CPS: Caries + Pigment Saliva
