Schematic representation of the loci of the plasmid-related ORFs in the chloroplast genomes of Gracilariales. All taxa of Gracilariales harbor ORFs of red algal plasmid provenance in the intergenic regions within the rrs-ompR-psbD cluster. The chloroplast genome of G. firma consists of a unique stretch of 12 plasmid-related ORFs in the intergenic region between the nblA and cpeB genes. The position of the plasmid-related ORFs in the chloroplast genome of G. salicornia, G. chilensis and G. tenuistipitata var. liui is adapted from [5, 6]
