The effect of T6SS on virulence on apple (left) and pear (right) plants. Shoots were inoculated with a bacterial suspensions containing approximately 10⁸ cfu ml⁻¹ of a single strain derivative. Lesion lengths were measured at weekly intervals over a 4-week period post inoculation. Values of percent lesion length represent the means of 25 plants with standard deviation. A two-way ANOVA with mean comparisons using the Fisher’s LSD test at a significance level of 5% was used to test for statistical significant differences.
