Venn diagram showing the number of shared genes between differentially and non-differentially expressed gene sets. BSD1 and BSD2 represent two blue-shelled duck groups, and accordingly WSD1 and WSD2 indicate two white-shelled duck groups. DEGs represent differenctially expressed genes between BSD and WSD groups; non-DEGs represent non-differentially expressed genes between ducks with the same eggshell color. The numbers in the overlapping area represent the number of shared genes between gene sets, whereas the ones in the single area indicate the number of the genes exclusively appearing in a single gene set. The number of the candidate genes shared between all DEG and non-DEG sets was showed in the center of the venn diagram
