Sensitivity in predicting ncRNAs on the pair of human chromosome 21 and mouse chromosome 19 using DotcodeR. The left panel shows the performance for the ncRNAs that are known to be structured (a), whereas the right panel is for the ncRNAs that might be or might not be structured (b). DotcodeR was applied only to the positive strand of each chromosome, and the performance on the negative strand actually comes from comparison between predicted regions on the corresponding positive strand and annotated regions on the negative strand. Note that sensitivity for rRNA was removed from the figure due to its low number of annotated genes pairs, and there are no cases of processed transcripts on the negative–negative strand. The sensitivity for C/D box snoRNA was also removed because two of the three cases have no annotated pairs. A single missed case of snRNA is not shown.
