Protein sequence diversity of ZEBOV proteome. Shannon’s entropy was used as a general measure of protein sequence diversity for each aligned nonamer (nine amino acids) position (1–9, 2–10, etc.) of ZEBOV proteins. The x-axis represents the position along the length of the protein and the y-axis represents the entropy value, which is indicative of the level of variability at the corresponding nonamer positions, with a zero representing completely conserved sites and high entropy values of more than 1 marking diverse sites. “Post-295 ssGP” is not shown because it was not analysed (see Methods)
