Statistically significant intronic motifs between modern human and Denisovan. The number of statistically significant whole genome motifs common to different combinations of modern human and Denisovan found in the 20 intergenic HAR regions described by Pollard et al. (2006) [23]. The 82 motifs unique to modern humans were then searched for in the intron sequences of modern human. The top 189 transcripts which had the highest number of these motifs were then subsequently mapped to 135 UniProt IDs at the UniProt website, which in turn mapped to 261 specific gene names, for which GO analysis was performed
