The inhibition of lipid depositon by testosterone in vitro. a Testosterone inhibits lipid deposition in primary chicken preadipocytes. Primary preadipocytes were obtained from AF tissues of male chickens, and were cultured with 0 or 30 ng/mL testosterone for 4 d, after which cells were collected, and cell differentiation was determined by oil-red-O staining. b RXRG and FABP7 mRNA expression were significantly down-regulated in cells treated with 30 ng/mL testosterone compared with untreated cells.
